The Medical Specialist ensures accurate, high-quality medical documentation that supports successful outcomes for clients applying to the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) and the Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). This role gathers, reviews, and processes medical records, collaborates cross-functionally, and maintains workflow discipline to ensure timely and complete upstream deliverables. The Medical Specialist combines strong communication and service skills with working knowledge of medical terminology and program requirements.

This role gathers, reviews, and processes medical records, collaborates cross-functionally, and maintains workflow discipline to ensure timely and complete upstream deliverables. The Medical Specialist combines strong communication and service skills with working knowledge of medical terminology and program requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, gather, and process medical documentation required for WTCHP and VCF claims.
- Communicate clearly with clients, providers, and third-party organizations to obtain required records.
- Maintain accurate case data in internal systems (e.g., Salesforce, CMS portals).
- Ensure documentation meets quality standards and supports downstream legal and operational work.
- Meet/exceed established KPIs and maintain workflow discipline to ensure timely deliverables.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Client Advocates, Attorneys, Surrogates, PI/FA, and other partners.
- Escalate issues related to missing documentation, inconsistencies, or delays.
- Practice strong customer service with empathy, clarity, and responsiveness.
- Adapt to technology updates, new processes, and evolving program requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- 2+ years of client-facing experience preferred
- Active RN or LPN license required
- Experience with the WTC Health program is preferred

$80,000-$100,000
